Background
Personal Background
Ms. English was born at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Co. and spent many years of her youth in England and Texas before settling in the Seattle/Tacoma area in Washington State.
As the military daughter of a Hospital Administrator, Ms. English grew up in a variety of hospital settings and often contemplated a career in medicine for her future.
As a teenager, Ms. English worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and after moving to California, became the Activities Director at a large Skilled Nursing Facility in Madera, Ca.
In her early college years, Ms. English also worked in the SPD Dept. of one of the large Hospitals in Fresno and volunteered as an Ombudsman for the County of Fresno helping advocate for Resident's Rights in Nursing Homes.
Although Ms. English's work and background nudged her towards medical school, a Fresno State Internship at the Madera District Attorneys' Office under current District Attorney, Lisa Smittcamp, 'sealed the deal' that Ms English's true calling was law and justice.
Education Bachelor and Master's Degrees (Fresno State University)
Prior to attending Law School, Ms. English received her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from California State University, Fresno. After graduating from law school, Ms. English went on to obtain her Masters of Business Administration (MBA) also from Fresno State.
Law School: University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law
Ms. English attended and received her Juris Doctorate from the esteemed
McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California.
During Law School, Ms. English received great recognition for her trial advocacy skills.
In her last summer before graduation, Ms. English clerked for the Federal District Attorneys' Office and was involved in the well known trial "Conrad v. United States of America" in which Conrad was accused of illegal gambling at Fresno's own Elbow Room Bar & Grill. Conrad lost his trial and his appeal and Ms. English fell in love with the trial process.
Trial Lawyer & Advocate
While Ms. English has trial experience in many practice areas, her primary focus has been civil trial practice focusing on Medical Malpractice and Employment Law. Ms. English is able to combine these two practice areas when there are cross overs with the Medical Field (represenbting whistleblowers for example) and negligent medical treatent. With almost 1/3 of Fresno employed by the Medical Community, the insights on the employment issues often result safer medical care and employer compliance. Whistleblowers are very important in the medical arena and we are please to hear from them when they have the courage to speak up.
Work Experience
Prior to founding Tower Law, Monrae English was a Partner and spent almost sixteen years at Wild, Carter & Tipton - Fresno's Oldest Law Firm. While at WCT, Ms. English represented employees subjected to employment discrimination and wrongful termination; patients (or their families) who suffered from medical malpractice by a doctor or hospital and victims of motor vehicle, motorcycle or trucking accidents which resulted in severe injuries.

- Over the years, Ms. English has coached Mock Trial for two local High Schools and served as a Judge in Moot Court for San Joaquin College of Law.
